Ambangan

›

The “Ambangan” exhibit at the Ethnology Gallery of National Museum Eastern-Northern Mindanao features the different indigenous communities such as Butuanons, Manobos, Higaonons, and Mamanwa, through the contemporary implements they use for survival like gold panning, fishing, farming, weaving, crafting, food gathering, etc. and the food products yielded such as local starch and wine. Also included are their musical instruments.

Ambangan is a small place, a sitio, a part of Barangay Libertad, considered a Pre-Hispanic multi-site being the trading center, settlement site, wharf or pier/port, workshop/place of fabrication of gold, metal and glass, and burial sites within 9th to 16th century.
